World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic Adding Fan Favorite Update

World of Warcraft just announced the release date for the next major update for Wrath of the Lich King Classic. The fan-favorite patch, along with its new dungeon, raid, and daily quests, is coming to World of Warcraft Classic very soon.

Call of the Crusade was the second major patch in Wrath of the Lich King. The unique era in World of Warcraft history saw players take up their lances and tabards as they championed their faction in a contest meant to steel the heroes of Azeroth against the forces of the Lich King.

Now, the Call of the Crusade update is finally coming to Wrath of the Lich King Classic. Starting June 20, players can enter the Trial of the Champion dungeon and complete Argent Tournament dailies to earn valuable rewards. Alternatively, players can take on dungeons with Defense Protocol Beta–a new type of Titan Rune Dungeon that awards gear from the Ulduar raid in World of Warcraft. On June 22, the Trial of the Crusader and Grand Crusader raids open in both their 10- and 25-man versions, as well as the level 80 version of Onyxia’s Lair.

Were that not exciting enough, World of Warcraft is bringing back the Joyous Journeys experience buff to Wrath of the Lich King Classic. Starting May 23, players will earn experience 50% faster in World of Warcraft Classic, making it significantly easier to catch characters up to current content. This experience boost will last for the entire month, likely ending once the Call of the Crusade patch goes live.

The Trial of the Crusader is fondly remembered for its unique structure, mechanics, and encounters. Though it sometimes pales in comparison to the other Wrath of the Lich King battles like the legendary Icecrown Citadel or the iconic Ulduar raid in World of Warcraft, many players still can’t wait to challenge this unique instance all the same. Even so, one of the most exciting things about Call of the Crusade is that Fall of the Lich King is only a few months away.

World of Warcraft Classic recently announced official Hardcore realms were coming soon, with another Classic Era season on its way shortly after. In Retail WoW, Blizzard is currently working on Patch 10.1.5. This upcoming content update for Dragonflight is adding some exciting features to the game, including a time-bending mega-dungeon. World of Warcraft players will soon have plenty of things to keep them busy, no matter what era they prefer to play.

World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
